![]() ![]() One of the best examples of this is in the very first episode when Tatsumi gets taken in by a wealthy family after being robbed of all of his money. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, Akame ga Kill is rife with problems and probably one the biggest is the fact that it includes murder, rape, and other travesties and then proceeds to place it next to random comedy. Some people might say that the things I’m about to talk about are “subjective” and are a matter of “taste” but the question is, when does the subjective become objective? Is it when said opinion is held by the majority? Is it when said opinion is held by a higher authority? Is it when one opinion has a large amount of evidence to prove said opinion is, in fact, valid? Think about that. ![]() Then again, I did choose to do this, so it’s all on me. To write about Akame ga Kill, you have to remember Akame ga Kill and even if you don’t forget, you have to live on with the entire manga stored in your brain. Writing about Akame ga Kill puts me in a rather uncomfortable position because either way, I lose. And you know what? Those people were wrong. Some were even saying that it was a “mature” show with lots of dark themes. It looked interesting enough and a lot of people were hyping it to be a really good show. I had never heard of Akame ga Kill before and being the adventurer that I am, I decided to watch it. And by that I mean it’s literally the first show you see when you open up the Summer 2014 list. Sword Art Online II? Here we go again… But there’s one show that I looked at first: Akame ga Kill. When I was looking at shows to watch for the summer season, I picked all of the ones I had heard about before. Summer 2014 was a pretty rocky season with shows that went on to achieve great critical acclaim like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, shows that got really hyped and ended up being a disappointment like Aldnoah/Zero, and shows that were utter garbage like Glasslip. No real discussion about the anime will take place. I will also be talking about the anime, but that’s just to explain how I found Akame ga Kill in the first place. Also, I will be using images from the anime and some of them are NSFW so be careful. ![]() There will be spoiler sprinkled throughout so read at your own risk. ATTENTION: This is going to be a review and an “analysis” of Akame ga Kill manga. ![]()
